Job Summary
Design, develop, deploy, monitor, operate, and maintain elements of the Fulfillment tech stack, including ride state machines for autonomous vehicles, taxis, and business concierge. Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code while explaining tradeoffs in decisions. Lead projects from concept to execution and proactively resolve ongoing incidents. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and distribute knowledge through brown bags and tech talks. Unblock teams and obtain buy-in across product, data science, and analytics to achieve results. Share engineering best practices and evangelize appropriate technologies.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience
- 2+ years of software engineering industry experience
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming
- Experience designing, debugging and running fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems
- Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.)
- Proficiency in scripting languages to use APIs to automate manual processes
- Experience with common CI tools (Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI, TeamCity), and proficiency in at least one of those tools
- Solid knowledge of distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases
- Ability to communicate in English in writing, meetings, and presentations
- Must be able to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
