Job Summary
Front End Software Engineer at AXIS Capital in Halifax (Hybrid: minimum three days per week in the Halifax office). Contribute to design, development, and maintenance of applications supporting insurance underwriting and operations. Collaborate with analysts, testers, and developers within Agile delivery. Build and enhance applications using React/Angular and Unqork; leverage Azure and .NET technologies; create Azure-based REST APIs; work with SQL/NoSQL databases; participate in deployment/change-management processes; mentor peers and support internal stakeholders. Requires 5+ years of frontend development experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of application development experience with a focus on front end development
- Strong proficiency in web development using Unqork, React or Angular
- Solid experience with Azure and .NET technologies
- Proven ability to create Azure-based REST APIs
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Git (or similar tools)
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and frameworks
- Track record of delivering quality code aligned with performance and usability standards
