Software Engineer (Fresh Grad)

Job Summary
Develop and deliver scalable software platforms across multiple products within the Rakuten Core Platform Section. Design and implement RESTful services with high quality, utilizing TDD practices to minimize production defects. Leverage best-in-class tools including CI/CD, cloud computing, and web service development to refine team practices. Engage in innovative problem-solving to create out-of-the-box solutions through prototypes and pilots. Instrument services to ensure deployed software remains scalable and reliable. Requires hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, APIs, and frameworks like ReactJS and AngularJS. Strong CS fundamentals in object-oriented design and distributed systems are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Any related degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong CS fundamentals in object-oriented design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API's
- A sound understanding of RESTful services, together with the ability to design and implement such services with good scalability and quality
- Utilize TDD practices to ensure delivery of high-quality code with low rates of production defects
- Experience in the following tech programs: HTML5, CSS3, JS, AngularJS, ReactJS
- Core Java 8, Spring 4.0 and above
- MYSQL/Any relational DB experience
- Mongo DB/any NO SQL experience
- Jenkins
- Maven
- Docker/Spark streaming
- Junit
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with distributed systems, caching and persistence solutions would be a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues under the pressure of time
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with strong command of verbal and written English
- Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence
