Software Engineer, Fleet Platform

Job Summary

Build and scale configuration management processes to support the robotic fleet, automating complex infrastructure processes including enterprise-scale AWS account management and deployments. Design and maintain Over-the-Air software deployment systems to ensure seamless updates across robotic assets, while implementing and enhancing robotics observability tooling like Foxglove for improved robot-to-cloud integration. Support the migration and management of enterprise-level AuthN and AuthZ for internal and external applications, and develop automated incident reporting and escalation tooling to proactively resolve production issues. Work alongside product engineers to ensure the platform meets the needs of both the fleet and interfacing applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in production support, development, and DevOps practices
  • Proficiency in managing cloud environments (AWS)
  • Experience with Enterprise AuthN/AuthZ
  • Hands-on experience or a strong interest in tools for remote robotics tooling (e.g., Foxglove, Rerun)
  • Experience troubleshooting complex, distributed issues

  • Experience designing and maintaining OTA (Over-the-Air) software deployment systems
  • Experience supporting the migration and management of enterprise-level AuthN and AuthZ
  • Experience implementing and enhancing robotics observability tooling
  • Experience developing automated incident reporting and escalation tooling
  • Experience working alongside product engineers to ensure the platform meets the needs of both the robotic fleet and the applications that interface with it
  • Understanding of the interdependent relationship between product features and the underlying infrastructure
  • Application of software development best practices (reusable code, automated testing) to platform engineering
