Job Summary
Software Engineer – Embedded Communications (ONSITE) collaborates with a cross-functional software team to translate system requirements into software requirements and detailed designs for mission-critical aerospace and defense programs. The role emphasizes embedded development, object-oriented design, and delivering software that meets customer and certification standards. Responsibilities include defining system requirements and UML/SysML models, implementing code for testing environments, providing technical support to SBCDS teams, ensuring integration and testing quality, and contributing to DevSecOps practices. Key skills include experience with embedded development, Jira/Subversion/Git, Python, Ada or Rust, Java/React GUI frameworks, memory-safe programming concepts, and knowledge of virtualization, containers, and CI/CD. A SECRET security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required, and relocation assistance is available for this onsite position located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Embedded Development using object-oriented design
- Experience with development tool sets, e.g. Jira, Subversion/Git/Version Management
- Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
