Job Summary
Software Engineer position at Toyota Financial Services (hybrid, Plano, TX) focusing on modern, cloud-native applications. You’ll collaborate with Agile teams to deliver features from concept to production, build and maintain scalable cloud-native services on AWS, and contribute to design discussions and code reviews. You’ll write clean, well-tested code in TypeScript, Python, or Java, debug across the stack with support from senior engineers, and adopt engineering best practices around testing, observability, version control, and deployment workflows. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Up to 2 years of software engineering experience (internships and academic projects count)
- Foundational knowledge of at least one backend language — TypeScript or Python or Java
- Basic understanding of RESTful APIs — how they work, how to build and consume them
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows (branching, pull requests, code review)
- Exposure to cloud services (AWS preferred) even at a conceptual level (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB)
- Experience with writing unit tests and integration tests aligned with quality standards
- Curiosity and a growth mindset
- Good communication skills
