Job Summary
SpaceX Software Engineer on the Design Software (Starship) team develops software used by engineers to aid in the creation, analysis, and distribution of design data including mesh processing, 3D graphics rendering, flight simulations, and wearables apps. You will own all aspects of software engineering and product development, build prototypes, integrate with external APIs or hardware, and collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews. Key skills include Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java; web front-end (Angular/React); Docker/Kubernetes; databases (PostgreSQL/SQL Server), graph databases (Neo4j); 3D graphics (three.js, OpenGL, Vulkan, Unreal Engine); CAD software integration (NX, Altium, Xpedition); and CI/CD practices. The role requires willingness to work extended hours/weekends and involves ITAR considerations; compensation includes base salary across Level I-II ranges, full benefits, stock opportunities, and PTO/holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree
- 1+ years of experience in full stack development
- Must be willing to work extended hours/weekends as needed dependent on launch cadence
