Job Summary
Own major projects in the dual execution stack to ensure DuckDB processes queries seamlessly locally or in the cloud. Build a cloud platform for dynamic resource assignment and lead cross-functional work with frontend, platform, and infrastructure teams to maintain a coherent user experience. Push the state of the art in embedded database performance, distributed execution, and DuckDB internals while working directly with DuckDB Labs to align on APIs. Deepen your expertise by sharing knowledge through mentorship and documentation, and collaborate with the support team to debug issues based on real usage patterns. Improve systems holistically by spotting architectural challenges early and clearing bottlenecks before they become problems. This role is ideally based in New York City but open to East Coast remote candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in a backend language like C++, Rust, Java, or similar systems languages
- Comfort working close to the metal
