Job Summary
Data-focused Software Engineer, Data (L2) wired to unify enterprise data using Palantir Foundry and a hybrid cloud stack. Build and onboard reusable data models and pipelines to support operational and analytics workloads; collaborate with business stakeholders, perform design and code reviews, and mentor engineers. Working with BigQuery, Databricks, Azure, Postgres; code in Python, Scala, and JavaScript; transition from Google/Microsoft hybrid cloud; on-site presence in Austin with hybrid work arrangement; minimum 5+ years in related fields and a bachelor's degree in CS or related discipline (or equivalent experience). This role emphasizes data modeling, data governance, security practices, and enterprise data platform delivery with stakeholder collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, data lakes, or software engineering with a data focus
- Strong data modeling skills and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders to understand data needs
- Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, and Scala
- Strong knowledge of Data Lake and Delta Lake concepts
- Understanding of data security and data governance best practices
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, BigQuery, or Palantir for building enterprise data platforms; experience with end-to-end data pipelines or ontology development in Palantir is a plus
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Fivetran
- Experience working in cloud environments (GCP or Azure preferred)
- Familiarity with DevOps processes and AI-assisted coding is a plus
- Experience building and documenting best practices for software testing, data testing, and system documentation
- Experience working with APIs
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Education and Experience: Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree in computer science or related discipline preferred or equivalent experience with demonstrated desire for continuing education and improvement
