Job Summary
The MX Dashboard team builds and maintains the Meraki Dashboard web applications that manage cloud-based network devices; as a Software Engineer, contribute to security and SD-WAN features, write, test, debug, and maintain frontend and backend code, participate in code reviews and design discussions, and work with firmware, backend, SRE, product, and other engineers to deliver scalable, reliable, and intuitive user experiences for networking and security capabilities. Use AI-assisted coding tools as part of day-to-day development, develop understanding of large-scale web applications and cloud-managed infrastructure, and collaborate to provide high-quality customer experiences.
Required Qualifications
- Up to 3 years of experience writing production code and tests
- Experience building full-stack web applications using backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Python, Node.js, Java, Go, or similar, and frontend frameworks such as React, Redux, TypeScript, or similar
- Familiarity with relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or SQL Server, including basic schema design and query writing
- Understanding of core software engineering practices such as code reviews, version control, automated testing, CI/CD, observability basics, APIs, and service integrations
- Comfortable using AI-assisted coding tools as part of day-to-day development for code generation, debugging, testing, documentation, and learning
- Product-minded, curious about user needs, collaborative, and able to communicate clearly with cross-functional partners
- Demonstrates ownership, growth mindset, and eagerness to deepen technical skills
- Preferred qualifications include experience contributing to web development, dev-ops, infrastructure, or security, and interest in distributed systems or cloud infrastructure
