Job Summary
Software Engineer at Betenbough builds, tests, and deploys software that connects sales, construction, and warranty systems. You’ll write clean, testable code in a collaborative CI environment, follow coding standards and QA processes, collaborate across departments to optimize workflows, create documentation and training, and learn the homebuilding business and supporting systems to remove friction and improve the customer and internal experience. The role focuses on designing and building tools that connect multiple teams and streamline complex processes, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and cross-team problem solving.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT-related field, or equivalent experience
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming using C#, VB.NET, Java, or C
- Fluency in C#, Java, or JavaScript
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle and release processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and customers
- Ability to document, verbalize, and organize ideas clearly
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn homebuilding systems
- Experience with team-based software development practices
- Experience or familiarity with .NET Core, .NET MVC, .NET Web API, LINQ, xUnit, SQL Server, Azure Services (preferred)
- Office-based in a temperature-controlled environment
- Driver’s license and ability to be insurable by company fleet insurance
- Ability to lift 20-75 pounds
- Occasional travel eligibility
