Job Summary
Design and implement reliable Elixir/Phoenix services handling real-time freight events and high-volume data while making trade-offs between speed, correctness, and maintainability. Take ownership of work end-to-end by verifying shipped features, challenging architectural assumptions early, and enforcing code standards through tooling like Credo and Dialyzer. Operate production systems by participating in deployments, troubleshooting, and tuning performance within AWS and CI/CD pipelines. Deliberately apply coding agents and agentic prompting to accelerate delivery, validating AI output with the same critical eye as hand-written code. Build well-scoped services that support mission-critical workflows across global logistics networks, influencing patterns and abstractions the wider engineering team relies on.
Required Qualifications
- 4–6 Years of Experience: Building and shipping complex, production-grade backend systems professionally
- Elixir Experience
- Phoenix
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Comfortable modelling, querying, and reasoning about performance and consistency
- PostgreSQL
- Hands-on with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code
- Practical experience using coding agents, agentic prompting, and MCP-style tooling
- A track record of going slightly past the brief
- Think and communicate before acting
- Comfortable working through ambiguity with alignment
- Clear, friendly, fast-moving, and direct
- Comfortable working closely with product, design, and other engineers
- Enjoy in-person collaboration 4 days per week in our Singapore (Tanjong Pagar) office

- Open-source contributions, particularly to tooling, libraries, or BEAM-ecosystem projects
- Comfort working across multiple services and modules
- Experience in greenfield projects or scaling-stage startups where you've had to set small patterns yourself
