Job Summary
Backend Software Engineer to design and build the core API powering travel bookings. You’ll focus on designing beautiful APIs and delivering a great developer experience, contributing to API design decisions, and balancing technical tradeoffs. You’ll work with Elixir, Phoenix, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform to enable travel distribution, search, and booking through Duffel’s API, in a flexible hybrid setup based in London (Shoreditch/Liverpool Street). The role offers visa sponsorship, a travel allowance, and a range of benefits including equity, parental leave, and a sabbatical program.
Required Qualifications
- Backend software engineering experience
- Experience building or working with APIs
- Experience with Elixir/Phoenix is a plus
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to design APIs with developer experience in mind
