Job Summary
Develop new capabilities and re-architect parts of an existing system by designing and coding middle and back-end services in a clean, efficient manner. Implement scalable and robust services while developing external and internal APIs, taking part in test-driven, iterative development, prototyping, and reviews with a team. Conduct unit and performance testing to ensure scalability and reliability, then review and debug code. Produce documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, and code comments to explain solutions and adhere to system specifications and standards. Requires a bachelor's degree in software engineering or related field with 1–3 years of experience developing server-side web applications in Java, including REST/SOAP services and relational or NoSQL databases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in software engineering
- Experience developing server-side web applications in Java
- Experience developing Java Web Services with public API (e.g. REST, SOAP)
- Experience with relational (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
- Proficient in object-oriented development
- Able to effectively and quickly adopt new technology
- Knowledge of Java frameworks, architecture, and design patterns
- Good communication skills
