Job Summary
Own the hub-and-spoke contract between cloud and on-prem failover edge nodes, ensuring they mirror architecture and operate through Degraded, Disconnected, Intermittent, and Limited conditions. Extend centralized identity federation to disconnected edges, automate cloud-architecture propagation to edge NixOS closures, and reconcile data state consistency via bilateral consistency protocols. Define and test failover/reconnect behavior against High-Avability ConOps while anchoring the sub-team to set technical direction and mentor ICs. Requires active U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance, strong systems languages (Go/Rust/Python), and distributed-systems fundamentals.
Required Qualifications
- Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret / SCI Clearance
- Software background
- Strong in a systems language (Go/Rust/Python)
- distributed-systems fundamentals (consensus, conflict resolution, eventual consistency)
- Cloud architecture depth (GCP preferred - VPC, IdP, networking)
- comfort at the edge (on-prem, bare-metal deployments)
- Willing to travel as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated ownership of a reliability/SRE or platform-engineering charter
