Job Summary
Software Engineer 2, DevOps role within eBay's Customer Support Technology Platform team. Hands-on, automation-focused position concentrating on DevOps, SRE, and release engineering practices to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, monitoring, and reliability. Will partner with senior engineers to enhance system stability, on-call incident response, and operational efficiency, contributing to tooling and scripts, observability signals, and release safety. Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–4 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or SRE-related roles
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Java, Python, or similar)
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and release processes
- Linux/Unix environments
- Cloud or distributed systems concepts
- Familiarity with Version control (Git), debugging and troubleshooting production issues
- Unit testing or automation practices
- Exposure to backend services and APIs to support deployment and operations
- Ability to collaborate with developers to improve build, test, and release workflows
