Job Summary
Own the observability stack (Prometheus, Chronosphere, Grafana, PagerDuty) across multiple environments to detect, diagnose, and resolve production issues; design platforms and developer tooling to reduce deployment friction and enable product teams to move faster; drive SLAs/SLOs for shared infrastructure and ensure resilience and cost-efficiency; take end-to-end ownership of key services within Observability or Data Infra, participate in on-call rotations, automate runbooks, build tooling and APIs to accelerate engineering teams, and mentor junior engineers while communicating effectively in an async, distributed environment.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years backend engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Working proficiency in Golang
- Experience building data-scale systems
- Ownership of a service or platform end-to-end
- On-call incident response experience
- Strong testing discipline
- Ability to design forward-looking architectures
- Async-first communication
- Experience with monitoring/observability principles
- Nice to Have: Prometheus, Grafana, Chronosphere, Datadog, New Relic, Honeycomb, Kubernetes, Terraform/Pulumi/CloudFormation, CI/CD tooling, Django or Python web frameworks, gRPC/protobuf, leadership experience
