Software Engineer 1 – Java/Python Full-Stack Developer

Job Summary
Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications, then design and code new features or modify existing systems to add capabilities. Debug defects in current software and assist with executing test procedures for components while integrating solutions into new or modified environments. Develop simple data queries for databases and implement algorithms to meet system performance standards, reviewing documentation and providing recommendations for process improvements. Serve as a team lead where appropriate, conferring with users and system engineers to investigate problem areas and adapt software to new hardware. Maintain source control using Git and Maven, ensuring unit and integration testing standards are met across Java and Python stacks.
Required Qualifications
- Java
- Python
- Unit testing and integration testing
- Source code control, specifically Git
- IDE experience with IntelliJ or Eclipse
- Maven
- Spring Boot
- Flask
- Analytical development, including machine learning, streaming, and batch processing
- Virtualization environments, including Kubernetes, containers, Docker, containerd, AWS, and HCI
- Streaming frameworks such as Kafka and Flink
- Databases and data stores such as MongoDB, ArangoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes
- Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- TS/SCI with client-level polygraph
- Both low-side and high-side access
- Annapolis Junction, MD
- Contractor facility
