Job Summary
Senior DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and operate the cloud platform powering our CipherTrust Data Security Platform Service. This role combines strong software engineering and operational skills to ensure reliable, scalable, and observable systems are delivered and maintained in production. Responsibilities include supporting the full application and infrastructure stack, designing and maintaining observability and synthetic testing, participating in on-call incident response, leading or supporting disaster recovery testing, defining and tracking SLOs/SLIs, producing monthly operational reports, leveraging Datadog for logs and dashboards, identifying performance bottlenecks and automation opportunities, building automation and internal tooling, deploying and maintaining platform layers with safe change management, collaborating with architects and developers, reviewing code and infrastructure changes, and documenting automation and platform components including runbooks.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or CloudOps
- 3+ years building and operating cloud-native platforms
- Experience deploying and supporting cloud-based applications
- Experience with orchestration toolsets (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc)
- Operational concepts (change management, on-call rotations, uptime)
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Experience with databases (MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres, Mongo, Cassandra)
- REST APIs, microservices development and deployment
- OS expertise (Linux or Windows)
- Security-conscious design and implementation
- Automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Public and Private Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP; OpenStack, etc)
- Ability to collaborate across distributed teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
