Job Summary
Senior DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and operate the cloud platform powering the CipherTrust Data Security Platform Service. The role emphasizes ensuring highly available, secure, performant, and reliable systems; developing observability, monitoring, and synthetic testing; participating in on-call incident response; disaster recovery planning; defining and improving SLOs/SLIs; producing operational reports; leveraging Datadog for metrics and dashboards; building automation and internal tooling; deploying and maintaining cloud and platform layers; collaborating with architects and developers; and reviewing code and infrastructure changes to maintain quality and compliance. The position is hybrid in Austin, TX, with an emphasis on cloud-native architectures, automation, and platform reliability.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or CloudOps
- 3+ years building and operating cloud-native platforms
- Experience deploying and supporting cloud-based applications
- Experience with orchestration toolsets (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Operational concepts: change management, on-call rotations, escalations, uptime
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Mongo, Cassandra)
- REST APIs, microservices development and deployment
- OS expertise (Linux or Windows)
- Security-conscious design and implementation
- Automation with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible
- Experience with IaaS/PaaS (OpenStack, Azure Stack, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Public and private cloud experience
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
