Job Summary
Operate critical services foundational to Amazon operations across multiple business segments and establish a new vision for enabling business agility while improving the security bar. Lead a talented team of software developers toward growing and scaling mission-critical services in big data management and data access, guiding engineers in incremental delivery and operational excellence. Balance robust security with seamless user experience by minimizing interaction complexity. Partner with product and program management teams to define multi-tier web services and collect requirements for technical designs and product strategy. Manage recruiting, hiring, and mentoring of software engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
