Application Support Engineer – Windows, PowerShell & SQL Server

Job Summary
Monitor enterprise and business-critical applications, servers, and databases to ensure stability and availability. Investigate and resolve complex incidents using PowerShell, Event Viewer, IIS logs, and SQL queries to identify root causes. Develop and maintain automation scripts for monitoring, deployment, testing, and operational efficiency. Support application releases, upgrades, patching, and environment changes while participating in incident, problem, and change management processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document known errors, prepare RCA reports, and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate operational runbooks and identify opportunities to replace manual processes with reliable engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of application or production support experience
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience
- Windows Server 2016, 2019, and/or 2022
- IIS administration
- Windows Services, Active Directory, Task Scheduler, and Event Viewer
- Application, middleware, and server troubleshooting
- SQL Server and practical SQL query debugging
- Monitoring, deployment, patching, and release support
- Incident, problem, and change management experience
- Experience supporting applications within agreed service levels
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, data engineering, data science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- ITIL, Microsoft, Windows, PowerShell, database, or cloud certifications
- Completion of applicable Synechron training in security, compliance, service management, and operational procedures
