Job Summary
Backend-focused Software Development Engineer II role within Expedia Group’s Air Supply Organization. You will write clean, maintainable, optimized code for high-performance applications, collaborate with cross-functional peers to understand dependencies, and contribute to end-to-end delivery from design to production. Responsibilities include developing and testing complex software, designing REST APIs, understanding relationships between applications, databases, and platforms, identifying inefficiencies in code or systems, documenting technical initiatives for broader teams, and ensuring production readiness. Required skills include Java or Kotlin, OOP/SOLID/DDD, REST API design, relational and non-relational data stores, CI/CD, Git, AWS, and experience with monitoring/logging tools (Splunk, Datadog). Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
- 2+ years of experience with Bachelor's degree
- backend development experience with Java or Kotlin
- understanding of OOPS Concepts, SOLID Principles, Domain driven design
- REST API design and implementation
- experience with relational and non-relational data stores
- CI/CD, Git, cloud computing (AWS)
- monitoring/logging (Splunk, Datadog)
- agile team experience
