Software Development and Integration Engineer

Job Summary

Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and customers to define software requirements, architecture concepts, integration strategies, and test plans. Perform integration of software components, firmware, embedded applications, and third-party libraries into operational systems while developing and maintaining automated deployment processes. Design automation scripts to improve build, testing, and release workflows, and configure development environments including source control repositories and CI/CD pipelines. Troubleshoot integration issues through root cause analysis and support software verification, validation, and system-level testing activities. Maintain build documentation, release records, and configuration management artifacts to ensure traceability. This role supports advanced communications, aerospace, defense, and mission-critical technology programs. Candidates must possess a U.S. government security clearance and 5+ years of experience in software integration, DevOps, or related technical roles within regulated environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software integration, software engineering, DevOps, or related technical roles
  • Experience supporting complex software development and integration projects
  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, embedded systems, or other highly regulated technical environments
  • Experience with software build, release, and deployment processes
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to review software documentation, system diagrams, technical specifications, and engineering data
  • Ability to participate in meetings, design reviews, and collaborative engineering sessions
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis and troubleshooting of software and system integration issues
  • May occasionally work in laboratory, integration, testing, or operational environments
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required for program support, testing activities, training, or customer engagements

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant technical certifications
  • Experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), or software-hardware integration
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, aerospace, telecommunications, or defense-related systems
  • Experience developing automation frameworks and deployment pipelines
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes, requirements management, and verification activities
  • Experience integrating third-party software components and applications
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and release management best practices
  • Experience supporting test automation and continuous integration environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and technical teams
  • Proven ability to work within cross-functional and multidisciplinary environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a structured approach to problem-solving
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of software builds, documentation, and deliverables
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced development environment

  • Programming and scripting languages: Python, C/C++, Bash, or equivalent
