Job Summary
Mid-level Software Developer to support Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) C4N&E activities at NSWC PCD in Panama City, FL. Responsibilities include software maintenance, using an agile development methodology to update and patch software, providing onsite support for modification and upgrades to C4N software baselines, delivering software development, programming, and coding support, integrating software units, and demonstrating functional and non-functional software requirements. Required programming in Java, C, C++, and C#, with Windows, Linux, and VxWorks environments; development in Microsoft Visual C++ with MFC; Java IDEs such as Eclipse or NetBeans; developing network protocol-based applications using TCP/IP and UDP; and familiarity with NAVY/DoD software processes. An active or interim SECRET security clearance is required, and U.S. citizenship is needed for eligibility. Travel up to 10% and onsite work at NSWC PCD Panama City are indicated.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a similar relevant discipline OR equivalent experience with professional software development
- At least three (3) years of recent, relevant professional experience with software development
- Experience programming in Java, C, C++, or C#
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows based programming
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies (preferred)
- Experience with SEI CMMI processes and procedures (preferred)
- Active or interim SECRET security clearance (required for hire) with U.S. citizenship (only U.S. citizens eligible for clearance)
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (Sec+), CSSLP, Java/C/C++/C# professional certification, or other relevant software development certification
- BS degree in a related field OR equivalent professional experience
- Ability to obtain a U.S. passport for travel (up to 10% travel)
