Job Summary
Design, install, test, and maintain software systems to improve business efficiency and service delivery. Write and code individual programs or develop new software resources based on specifications from IT analysts. Review current systems, present ideas for improvements with cost proposals, and modify off-the-shelf software to integrate into existing networks. Produce detailed specifications, write program codes, test products in controlled real situations before launch, prepare training manuals, and maintain systems post-deployment. Work closely with analysts, designers, and staff while leveraging expertise in hardware, software, and languages like Java and Visual Basic.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of programming skills
- Comfortable with web-based programs
- Comfortable with traditional programs like Java and Visual Basic
- Expertise in current computer hardware and software
- Ability to use one or more development language (C++, PHP, HTML, etc.)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Eye for detail and identifying problems
- An understanding of business
- Analytical and commercial experience
