Job Summary
Software Developer - Mobile Apps (Flutter) focused on cross-platform mobile solutions for Wärtsilä's globe-spanning port management information system. Role centers on designing, building, and maintaining Flutter-based mobile apps with Android and iOS parity, collaborating with backend engineers to integrate with microservices and RESTful APIs, and contributing to architectural decisions for scalable, secure mobile solutions. Remote work is available one day (Thursday) per week, with in-office presence in Vancouver, BC. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), 2+ years of software development experience, Flutter/Dart expertise, REST API experience, Git proficiency, and strong communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of software development experience
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience using Flutter and Dart
- Proven experience developing and publishing mobile apps on Android and iOS
- Familiarity with state management solutions such as Provider, Riverpod, or Bloc
- Experience consuming REST APIs and working with backend systems
- Proficient with Git for version control
- Ability to bring wireframes and designs to life on mobile
