Job Summary
Software Engineer focusing on System Management supporting the FAA TFDM program. Responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of air traffic management systems, contributing to modernization and enhancement of surface and terminal aircraft operations, and supporting NextGen capabilities. The TFDM program provides an integrated surface traffic control and management system for airport surface and terminal airspace. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Location is Gaithersburg, MD office 3 days a week with 2 days remote; travel up to 25% to airports nationwide.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 2+ years of proven experience in Software Engineering
- Strong experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, plugins, callbacks, inventory)
- Proficiency in Python scripting and tool development
- Bash/Shell scripting for complex build orchestration
- Linux system administration (RHEL)
- Container experience with Podman/Docker
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- CI/CD and build automation
- Git workflows
- System knowledge including network configuration and VM lifecycle management
- Experience with multi-environment deployment (dev/test/prod)
- Familiarity with RPM, pip, and Ansible Galaxy
