Job Summary

Develop and support billing software for broadband communication members by converting raw files into billing records and applying taxes during cycles. Build functionality to enhance user experience or automate workflows through intelligent agent-based features. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, design, and implement new features while researching, analyzing, and resolving moderately complex customer issues and bugs. Unit test and integration test code as needed, adhering to established software development methodologies. Leverage generative AI tools to enhance productivity within the scope of the role. This Back End Python position on the iVUE Telecom Bill Calculations Software Development team supports billing processes for data center solutions for Telecom and Broadband Members.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience in software development
  • Proficient with SQL, Progress, C or other Object-Oriented languages
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience with Progress OE12 or greater
  • Experience with Linux OS
  • Experience with Git including branching/merging workflows
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo
  • Leverage generative AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving within the scope of the role
  • Commitment to NISC's Statement of Shared Values
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science-related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of working 3 days per week out of an office location
  • Ability to work up to all 5 days a week from an office location
  • Required Days from an Office Location: Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Ability to see and communicate
  • Ability to maintain a stationary position

  • Ability to operate computer keyboards or office equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2, EMR, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch), preferred
