Job Summary
Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using C# and .NET while building data-access components with PostgreSQL and deploying software via Docker containers. Create unit and integration tests, troubleshoot defects for root-cause analysis, and produce technical documentation to support the software development lifecycle. Develop and maintain REST APIs that interface with physical instruments, pumps, sensors, and controllers within cross-functional teams. Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and Agile activities to ensure reliable, maintainable software for laboratory and bioprocessing systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Up to three years of professional software development experience, including internships or cooperative education
- Working knowledge of C# and the .NET platform
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
- Basic understanding of Docker and containerized application development
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles
- Experience using Git or another source-control system
- Familiarity with unit testing, debugging, and software defect tracking
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to learn new technologies and work effectively within a collaborative engineering team
Desired Qualifications
- PostgreSQL experience
- Experience developing software for laboratory, medical, industrial, or scientific instruments
- Experience communicating with hardware through serial, Ethernet, USB, OPC UA, or similar protocols
- Familiarity with industrial Linux or embedded computing platforms
- Experience with REST APIs and distributed or service-based architectures
- Exposure to Jira and Confluence
- Familiarity with regulated software development, including GAMP 5, GxP, or medical-device quality systems
- Basic understanding of process-control concepts, sensors, data acquisition, or PID control
