Job Summary
Develop and implement new web applications to support the NASA SEWP Program, focusing on usability and performance. Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, coding, implementation, and production launch. Perform peer code reviews and application testing to maintain software quality, while collaborating with developers, database administrators, and internal stakeholders. Document system designs and requirements to ensure future maintainability. Adapt to an Agile environment and provide project support outside normal core business hours as needed. This mid-level Java role is integral to the IT solutions team within the NASA SEWP Program Management Office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2+ years of experience developing Java applications
- 1+ years of experience writing SQL queries, preferably including experience with Oracle
- 1+ years of experience working in an Agile software development environment
- Experience with data interchange formats including JSON and XML
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with JSP and/or Spring preferred
- Full stack experience including front-end web development (JavaScript, CSS, HTML) is a plus
