Job Summary
Conduct analysis, design, and implementation of software enhancements for NASA's NSPIRES application, including full integration and testing on operational systems. Research emerging technologies, perform experimental setups, and document results while recommending tools and methodologies. Maintain legacy systems and develop future cloud-based solutions using Java, Java EE, Oracle, and JavaScript full-stack frameworks. Develop engineering standards, participate in architecture meetings, and collaborate through peer reviews to ensure quality assurance. Actively engage in all phases of the software development life cycle with limited supervision. Requires 4+ years of experience and US citizenship for background investigation.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of related experience
- US Citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder)
- Proficiency in Java, Java EE and Java-based technologies
- Proficiency with JavaScript, client and server side
- Knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Splunk, Maven, Ant and Jenkins
- Knowledge of JSF, Myfaces, Facelets, Struts, EJBs, Hibernate, Spring, Ajax
- Expertise in Oracle Database and WebLogic Application Server
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithm design
