Job Summary
Software Developer located in Chantilly, VA: Research, design, development and testing of software applications for DoD systems. Understand customer requirements and implement new functionality; develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; document and communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences; travel occasionally to support team integration. Requires active DoD TS/SCI with CI Poly and US citizenship. Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or related field. Proficiency in Python, Go, Java or other modern languages; experience with data visualization libraries (matplotlib, bokeh, d3, Matlab); strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication abilities; self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in a small team; willingness to learn new skills and technologies and push beyond comfort zone. Preferred: 10+ years experience, distributed VCS and CI (Git/Jenkins), containers/Kubernetes/OpenShift, security concepts integration, RF systems familiarity, ELK and Spark.
Required Qualifications
- Active DoD TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance, with CI Poly
- US Citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience with software development lifecycle and of associated tools
- Proficient in Python, Go, Java, or other modern programming languages
- Knowledge of common data visualization technologies and libraries, such as matplotlib, bokeh, d3, or Matlab
- Exceptional analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills
- High level of self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively in small team settings to solve complex problems
- Willingness to learn new skills and technologies and exit “comfort zone”
