Job Summary
Software Developer (C++) needed to design, develop, and modernize desktop-based analytical applications in a DoD context. Work in a collaborative Agile SAFe environment with software engineers, systems engineers, testers, and government stakeholders to build and maintain mission-critical Navy-related software. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality C++ desktop applications, applying object-oriented design, multi-threading, concurrency, synchronization, and asynchronous programming; troubleshooting defects; modernizing legacy systems; contributing to software architecture and code reviews; and creating technical documentation. Requires doD-regulated environment experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently within a team; U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance are required; CompTIA Security+ certification is required. Education and experience may be considered as equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 5–10 years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in C++ with a focus on desktop application development
- Experience with multi-threading, concurrency, synchronization, and task-based asynchronous programming
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Active Secret DoD Security Clearance required
- CompTIA Security+ Certification required
- Experience with Git source control and code-review workflows
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex software applications
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving software defects in production or operational environments
- Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and SAFe
- Experience with CMake and modern C++ standards (C++11/14/17/20)
- Experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing complex software systems
- Experience supporting U.S. Navy or Department of Defense software development efforts
- GIS experience is a plus
- Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience may be considered
- Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline
- Accessible to support mission-critical defense systems
