Job Summary
Software Developer-Builder (Experienced or Senior) at The Boeing Company seeks to modernize legacy systems and deliver end-to-end software for cloud-native digital aircraft maintenance products. The role involves building full-stack, production-grade applications (frontend, backend, REST/GraphQL APIs), writing clean, testable code, implementing event-driven and microservices architectures, integrating AI/ML capabilities into client applications, setting up CI/CD and delivery infrastructure, mentoring teammates, and communicating technical risk to leadership. Hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days/week) based in Seattle, WA or Denver, CO. Collaboration with Developers, Engineering, Data Science, and Architects to keep AI/ML at the center of solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in an application development role, performing core activities across the software lifecycle- from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, integrations, deployments, and production support
- 3+ years proven experience with full-stack web development
- 3+ years of experience with modern software product development, integration, and delivery
- 3+ years of hands-on development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field is generally required for this role
- An advanced degree such as a Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related discipline is preferred
- Experience or exposure integrating AI, ML, or LLM capabilities into software applications
- Experience with cloud-native architecture and delivery tooling
- Experience modernizing legacy systems or working in brownfield environments
- Experience working in complex enterprise environments with distributed systems
- Experience designing or contributing to event-driven or microservices-based systems
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team
- Experience in aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, transportation, or similarly complex regulated environments
