Job Summary
Software Automation Test Engineer analyzes and tests software applications across multiple systems. Develops software tools to aid in hardware development and hardware validation; derives, validates, and verifies customer and operationally driven system requirements. Develops automated and human-assisted unit and system level tests to exercise critical aspects of the system. Documents and communicates highly technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Requires active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Proficient in Python and scripting; experienced with SDLC, Git, Jira, and the full software testing lifecycle (planning, execution, debugging, documentation). Preferred skills include CI environments (GitLab CI), automated deployment frameworks (Jenkins, Ansible), and security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, integrity, non-repudiation). Location: Chantilly, VA; on-site at client facility.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with software development lifecycle and use of associated tools (e.g., git and Jira)
- Experience with the full software testing lifecycle, including test planning, execution, debugging, and documentation
- Proficient in Python and other scripting languages
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills
- High level of self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively in small team settings to solve complex problems
