Job Summary
Design and evolve scalable software architectures for enterprise applications while actively coding in Java, Laravel, and React. Lead the modernization of legacy monolithic systems into cloud-native microservices using patterns like Strangler Fig and event-driven architectures. Define service boundaries, design RESTful APIs with Kafka and Amazon SQS, and architect resilient AWS solutions. Perform code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor engineers throughout the development lifecycle. Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment strategies and drive continuous improvements in system observability.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise software solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Professional experience developing applications with Laravel (PHP) and React
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices
- Extensive experience designing distributed systems and cloud-native applications
- Strong understanding of architectural patterns, including Microservices, Modular Monoliths, Strangler Fig, CDC, Event-Driven Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and RESTful APIs
- Experience implementing asynchronous communication using Kafka and/or Amazon SQS
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, Amazon RDS, and Amazon DynamoDB
- Experience with Debezium or other CDC technologies
- Solid understanding of software design patterns (GoF) and architectural best practices
- Experience with AWS services, including ECS, EC2, DynamoDB, SQS, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Systems Manager Parameter Store
- Experience troubleshooting complex production environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience modernizing large-scale monolithic applications
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of observability tools such as New Relic, CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Familiarity with Redis or distributed caching solutions
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
