Job Summary
Design and evolve scalable software architectures for enterprise applications while actively participating in coding, design reviews, and technical implementation. Lead the modernization of legacy monolithic systems into cloud-native microservices using patterns like Strangler Fig, Change Data Capture, and event-driven architectures. Develop production-ready software in Java, Laravel, and React, defining service boundaries and implementing asynchronous integrations via Kafka and Amazon SQS. Architect cloud solutions on AWS, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor engineers to drive continuous improvements in observability and deployment strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise software solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Professional experience developing applications with Laravel (PHP) and React
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices
- Extensive experience designing distributed systems and cloud-native applications
- Strong understanding of architectural patterns, including Microservices, Modular Monoliths, Strangler Fig, CDC, Event-Driven Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and RESTful APIs
- Experience implementing asynchronous communication using Kafka and/or Amazon SQS
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, Amazon RDS, and Amazon DynamoDB
- Experience with Debezium or other CDC technologies
- Solid understanding of software design patterns (GoF) and architectural best practices
- Experience with AWS services, including ECS, EC2, DynamoDB, SQS, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Systems Manager Parameter Store
- Experience troubleshooting complex production environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience modernizing large-scale monolithic applications
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of observability tools such as New Relic, CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Familiarity with Redis or distributed caching solutions
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
