Job Summary
Plan, direct, and supervise store-team members across departments to drive customer service, sales, and operational standards. Responsibilities include staffing, hiring, leadership development, coaching, enforcing safety, managing P&L and shrink, ensuring training and certifications are completed, and maintaining store presentation and service aligned with company standards. The role emphasizes mentoring team members, promoting career development, communicating the Meijer Friendly Initiative, and delivering excellent customer experiences while meeting business goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2-3 years of related retail experience
- One year of management experience
- Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli) beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to communicate directions clearly
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and leaders
- Successful completion of required certifications
