Job Summary
Lead the High School athletics program as Program Director and Head Varsity Coach, serving as liaison among staff, administration, public, and media; plan and deliver an exemplary sports program; conduct personnel evaluations of coaches; advise students for college scholarships; manage equipment; coordinate in-season and off-season conditioning and recruitment; travel to contests as district program head; ensure compliance with ethics and program policies; collaborate with district athletic director, Youth Program Directors, and recreation programs; promote the program and recruit participants; supervise coaching staff and provide professional development opportunities; maintain district program goals and interface with activities manual and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Five years of experience coaching or participating in a college or high school program preferred with a minimum of two years of experience coaching or participating in a college or high school program required.
- Advanced study in the area of coaching preferred.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Holds a valid Idaho Teaching Certificate or completion of National Federation Fundamentals of Coaching and Sports Specific Classes.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
