Job Summary
Migrant Parental Involvement Specialist responsible for coordinating Migrant Parent Advisory Committee activities and migrant parental involvement/education initiatives. The role requires delivering leadership and training for migrant parents, organizing district and regional meetings, communicating school rules and program information to parents and students, maintaining program records and attendance, coordinating workshops and trips to conferences, and fostering cooperative relationships with SOESD staff and partner districts. Must be bilingual (Spanish and English), committed to educational equity, able to conduct home visits or calls, and work from the SOESD District Office in Klamath Falls with flexible hours to support evening/weekend parent events. This is a 0.3 FTE position with 190 days, paid hourly with benefits, located in Klamath Falls, Oregon, USA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a field pertinent to youth development or related area
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Valid Oregon Driver's license
- Experience with Latino community
- Strong communication skills
- Office/computer skills
- Ability to work independently and with diverse populations
