Job Summary
Conduct precise reading, writing, and spoken communication in Farsi/Persian across all intelligence products while delivering nuanced cultural analysis of Iranian geopolitical, economic, and social dynamics. Execute research, HUMINT intelligence collection, and target analysis focused on Iranian actors, producing accurate translations of transcripts, video, and audio materials between Farsi and English. Devise innovative methods for language research and information exploitation, then determine optimal formats and channels for disseminating finished intelligence to support CI/HUMINT operations. Collaborate with analysts to refine collection strategies and author Operating Instructions for Command-wide programs. Requires Active Top Secret/SCI clearance, native-level Farsi proficiency, and 12+ years of relevant experience supporting USCYBERCOM J2X at Fort Meade.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance with Polygraph
- Min of 12 years w/o a degree or 10 years with AS/AA or 8 years with BS/BA or 6 years with MS/MA, Min of 3 years with PhD
- Native-level Farsi/Persian proficiency — first or second generation fluency with command of current vernacular, colloquialisms, and terminology
- ILR/DLPT Level 4 in speaking, reading, and writing in Farsi
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Farsi
- Working knowledge of HUMINT collection, cultural analysis, and IC/DoD classification guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to produce accurate translations and polished intelligence products in Microsoft Office formats
Desired Qualifications
- Academic or professional background in Iranian/Persian regional studies, political science, or cultural analysis
- Hands-on experience with HUMINT collection operations or CI/HUMINT language analysis
- Familiarity with Iranian social media platforms, technical terminology, and evolving colloquialisms
- Knowledge of Iranian military doctrine, cyber capabilities, and intelligence services (IRGC, MOIS)
- Experience applying network defense principles and network infrastructure concepts in an intelligence context
- Minimum 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years
- Master's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- Bachelor's degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master's degree
