Job Summary
Provide group and individual counseling sessions to special and general education students, monitor IEP goals, and participate in student IEP meetings. Develop and monitor behavior intervention plans while conducting functional and risk assessments, communicating results to teams and parents. Establish relationships with students and families, assist in identifying community resources, and provide staff consultation on behavioral-emotional-environmental issues. Deliver crisis intervention services and maintain state-required clinical records for statistical reports.
Required Qualifications
- Valid licensure for the state they are working in
- MSW degree
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) issued by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA)
- School Social Work Full Approval and/or Provisional/Professional School Social Worker Certificate issued in the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS)
