Social Worker – Referral and Assessment

Social Worker in the Referral and Assessment Team supporting children and families across the London Borough of Havering (and locations including Manchester per posting details). Responsibilities include receiving and screening referrals, conducting initial risk and eligibility assessments under Sections 17 and 47, making decisions on further intervention, undertaking home visits and interviews with children and families, liaising with police, schools, health services and other agencies, preparing detailed reports and recommendations, escalating cases to child protection teams when necessary, and maintaining accurate records with timely responses to referrals. Requires Social Work England registration, eligibility to work in the UK, a full UK driving licence, post-qualification experience, and a degree level or equivalent in Social Work.
