Job Summary
Develop relationships with clients to support immediate needs in safety, housing, and health while providing case management for Medicaid-eligible individuals. Connect clients with appropriate services and explore community options when necessary resources are unavailable. Organize and conduct community engagement by maintaining relationships with non-profit agencies, government officials, and local leaders. Document all work in Legal Server case management and adhere to program policies and ethical standards. Travel within the service area and to meetings across Western North Carolina. Work with volunteers, including attorney and social work student interns, while assisting with fundraising coordination. Maintain strict confidentiality and apply a trauma-informed, empowerment-based approach to promote client self-determination.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Master of Social Work
- Passion for and commitment to PLS' mission, values and vision
- Demonstrated skills at socio-economic and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to work with someone who is angry, upset, or ill
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with teams and independently
- Valid driver's license
