Job Summary
Social Worker supporting the NC SBI’s Behavioral Threat Assessment Unit: provides assessment, consultation, and case coordination to identify community-based resources, evaluate behavioral concerns, coordinate interventions, and connect individuals with appropriate mental health and social services. Collaborates with law enforcement partners, schools, and community groups to identify and secure local resources; develops multilingual information resources (brochures/handouts); ensures culturally appropriate management and mitigation of needs; coordinates follow-up with local law enforcement; serves as a consultant on other SBI/ISAAC cases; works within a multidisciplinary team of professionals and stakeholders. This is a full-time role with a Monday–Friday schedule and on-call duties, with a comprehensive background investigation process and adherence to state employment policies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work
- Bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience
- Master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience
- Eligibility for comprehensive background investigation including pre-employment checks and related verifications
- Ability to work on multidisciplinary teams with local, state, and federal partners
