Job Summary
Social Worker (MSW) at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center in NJ provides psychosocial assessment and support to cancer patients and their caregivers across the cancer care continuum. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial and spiritual needs assessments, assessing coping and resilience, educating patients and families about treatment options and prognosis, promoting communication among patients, caregivers, and families, conducting distress screenings, identifying barriers to care, referring for services (depression, anxiety, substance use, transportation, housing, financial aid), providing individual, couples, and family psychotherapeutic counseling, facilitating goals-of-care and advanced care planning, and leading support groups. Collaborates with the oncology team to optimize care and ensure access to resources.
Required Qualifications
- MSW degree or higher
- LSW or LCSW licensure in NJ or eligible for NJ licensure
- ability to provide psychosocial assessment and counseling to cancer patients and caregivers
- experience with oncology psychology/cancer care is preferred
