Job Summary
Provide social work services and psychosocial/family assessments in accordance with professional standards and licensing requirements. Develop and implement psychosocial activities while documenting group and individual patient care interventions and outcomes. Perform psychosocial assessments to develop treatment plans, demonstrating knowledge of mental illness symptoms, DSM V Manual, and community resources. Maintain current NJ LSW licensure and complete Welle training within the introductory period. Requires a Master's Degree in Social Work and at least one year of experience in social work or related psychiatric fields. Full-time day shift position in Voluntary Adult MHU.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an Accredited college or university
- A minimum of one year in social work or related psychiatric field
- License eligible (A passing score on the ASWB Social Work LSW Exam and within 8 months maintain current NJ LSW)
- Current Welle training within introductory period
- Thorough knowledge of the causation, symptoms and effects of mental illnesses
- Demonstrates working knowledge of DSM V Manual, community resources, discharge planning activities, basic leadership skills, and decision-making ability
- Must have the ability to perform psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans
- Must be able to lift 20-50lbs

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in an acute care hospital or inpatient psychiatric unit
