Social Worker - LPCC (Newark Campus)

Mental health counselor on The Ohio State University Newark campus providing short-term counseling for enrolled students via in-person therapy or telehealth. Responsibilities include completing clinical intakes, conducting counseling sessions, triage appointments, crisis assessment, diagnosing mental health or substance use disorders as appropriate, and creating referrals for on- and off-campus services. Requires timely documentation of services in the electronic database and preparing materials to support accommodations through Disability Services. The role involves outreach activities such as presentations to student groups and classrooms; occasional travel to regional campuses; and collaboration with Career Services, Disability Services, and other student-life areas. Licensure in Ohio (LSW) is required; preferred qualifications include LPC/LPCC-LISW licensure and additional counseling experience. Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and sensitivity to diverse student populations are emphasized. Must be able to perform intakes, use screening tools, provide short-term treatment, and connect students to additional testing or services as needed.
