Job Summary
Social Worker Intern collaborates with campus Social Workers to provide individualized emotional, behavioral, and mental health support for at‐risk scholars. Responsibilities include co-managing caseloads, conducting individual and group counseling, planning and delivering crisis- and trauma-informed interventions, coordinating with families and community resources, co-designing professional development for staff, and contributing to program evaluation and reporting. Requires travel across the Rio Grande Valley (20–30%) to different campuses; on-site, part-time schedule (Fall 26-27) with mileage reimbursement; preference for candidates living in or relocating to the Rio Grande Valley. Education pathway indicates pursuit of a Master’s degree in Social Work; licensure pursuit with UTRGV support; Spanish language ability preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Working to obtaining master’s degree in Social Work through UTRGV Program
- Experience: 1+ year(s) of teaching experience preferred
- Licenses or certification: Working to obtain TX Social work license with support of UTRGV Program
- Knowledge and Skills: Bilingual Spanish preferred
